Learn Programming from Zero with Python
Think in steps
Start by describing a task in plain language. Identify what information is provided, what result is needed, and what decisions or repetitions are involved. This process is useful before writing code in any language.
Write a first Python program
Use variables to name values, input and output to communicate with a person, and expressions to calculate a result. Keep each step small so it is easier to understand and correct.
Add conditions and loops
Conditions let a program choose a path. Loops repeat a task while a rule remains true or for each item in a collection. Check boundary cases, such as empty input or an unexpected value.
Use functions to organize behavior
A function gives a name to a small piece of work. Clear parameters and return values make a program easier to reuse and test. Read error messages as clues about where execution did not match expectations.
